David

The King David statue is hand colored, individually cast in resin from the original in the collection of the Israel Bible Museum. The artist, Phillip Ratner after reading from Samuel 1 in the Bible began thinking about his father as an accomplished string musician and immediately went to work on King David. "Saul sent to Jesse, saying, "Let David stand before me, for he has found favor in my eyes." And it happened that whenever the spirit (of melancholy) from God was upon Saul, David would take the harp and play (it) with his hand, and Saul would feel relieved and it would be well with him, and the spirit of melancholy would depart from him." (1 Samuel 16:19-23) (Approx. 12 inches tall)
