Phillip and Dennis Ratner
Construction and endowment of the Museum are being funded by Dennis and Phillip Ratner and a group of family and friends who chose to join this under-taking at the inception. Future gifts by individuals are welcome.
Phillip Ratner
A multi-media artist and native of Washington, D.C., Phillip Ratner has spent many years working in sculpture, painting, etched glass, tapestry, drawing and the graphic arts. In 1984, he opened The Israel Bible Museum in Safad, Israel. Ratner also spent time in Israel using sculpture, painting and graphics to design more than 250 works of art relating to the Hebrew Bible.
Ratner has degrees from Pratt Institute and American University, and for 23 years taught in Washington, D.C. area public schools. He continually builds his reputation as an international artist.
Dennis Ratner
In addition to his involvement with the Ratner Museum, Dennis Ratner serves as co-founder and CEO of Ratner Companies, located in Vienna, Va. Ratner Companies operates Hair Cuttery, company-owned and franchised, Hair Cuttery UK, BUBBLES, Salon Cielo and Spa, ColorWorks and Salon Plaza. With nearly 1,000 salons, the privately-owned company employs more than 10,000 Stylists across 14 states and the United Kingdom.
Also an active member of his community, Dennis contributes to many organizations including the National Zoo, the Capital Children's Museum, the Whitman Walker Clinic and the United Jewish Appeal of Greater Washington. In recent years he has also directed a major fundraising campaign for the Miracle Network of Children's Hospital that resulted in donations of nearly $400,000.
